Empowering mental health service users
in 5 regions of Azerbaijan

The specific objective of the action is to improve user involvement into Mental Health services in Azerbaijan through capacity building of local NGOs. The main focus of the proposed action is to improve local governance by giving Mental Health service users the right to participate in decisions that affect them. Working with existing community-based social capital in 5 regions of Azerbaijan will generate pathways to lever Mental Health service users and their family members upward from poverty. It will also result in a more sustainable link with communities (decreased stigmatization and discrimination and increased integration and cohesion), thus will create opportunities for more meaningful participation.
